Restorative Writing Workshop
Date: Saturday, March 9
Time: 10:00-1:00
Location: 338 Arnolds Valley Rd, Natural Bridge Station, VA
Getting words down is rarely easy, but the pressures of work, school and the world at large can make it feel impossible to enjoy writing. You’re not alone in feeling discouraged by blinking cursors and blank pages. This workshop is designed to reignite your creative spark and equip you with the tools you need to develop a sustainable writing practice. Join us for a morning of writing and positive self-reflection among supportive peers!
After a brief warmup, we’ll guide participants through a series of creative journaling prompts and meditative exercises. Together, we’ll rediscover what used to make us feel excited about writing—and harness that enthusiasm to set tangible, achievable creative writing goals. This workshop is pay what you will, with no minimum donation necessary.
You will:
Reflect on your past, present and future goals as a writer
Work to reframe and strategize around the obstacles in your way
Reimmerse yourself in your love of writing and the written word
Learn journaling, research and brainstorming techniques
Commune with nature and fellow writers
This workshop is for:
Anyone who wishes they could write more/write differently/write more easily than they do
Anyone who feels discouraged or burnt out creatively, and enjoys journaling
Anyone who feels disconnected from a former love for writing
